Truck Accidents in Delaware
According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, there were approximately 30,000 crashes reported across our state in 2020. A number of these accidents involved commercial vehicles. These crashes often resulted in death or serious injury for victims. A Delaware truck accident has the potential to result in very serious and life-changing outcomes and even death in the most severe cases. Commercial truck crashes occur with great force and the potential for injury is much greater than an accident involving a passenger vehicle or other similar vehicle.
There are many reasons that a commercial truck crash can occur. Although the trucking industry is heavily regulated with driver and mechanical safety standards, these standards are not always rigorously followed. Driver error plays a major role in many Bridgeville truck accidents. Drowsy driving, distracted driving, and impairment are frequent causes of truck accidents across our states. Truck drivers are often held to higher safety standards due to the inherently dangerous nature of operating a commercial vehicle. In other cases, a trucking accident may occur due to some sort of mechanical failures, such as improper equipment on the truck itself. The cause of each trucking crash must be carefully investigated, often by an expert, in order to determine why the accident took place.
