Townsend, DE (July 15, 2022) — According to reports from authorities, an injury accident that occurred around 5:46 a.m. on Friday morning, shut down Rt. 1 southbound and left victims injured at the scene.
Authorities say that at least two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the roadway for uncertain reasons. Emergency crews were promptly dispatched to the scene where they administered medical care to all the parties involved.
A medical helicopter was dispatched to the area and at least one person is believed to have been med flighted to a nearby hospital. At the time of reporting, we are unable to identify the victims or the severity of their injuries.
