Milton, DE (July 30, 2022) – The Delaware State Police are investigating in the aftermath of a fatal accident on Saturday, July 30th. The crash took place around 7:00 a.m. on Milton Ellendale Highway near the intersection with Mulberry Street.
According to a report from the DSP, a 2014 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound om Milton Ellendale. At the same time, a gray 2016 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling westbound on the same road. The Colorado attempted to make a turn onto Mulberry but turned into the direct path of the oncoming Corolla, causing a collision.
The driver of the Corolla, a 20-year-old woman from Woodbridge, VA, was seriously hurt in the crash. She was rushed to a local hospital where she later died. The driver of the Colorado was not injured in the accident. A passenger in the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no other vehicles involved in the accident. The road was closed for about 3.5 hours while police investigated the collision. No one involved in the crash has been identified.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
