Selbyville, DE (August 19, 2022) – The Delaware State Police responded to the scene of a deadly car accident on Thursday, August 18th. The crash was first reported just after 8:00 a.m. on McCabe Road at the intersection with Dupont Boulevard.
According to police, a Honda Civic was traveling westbound on McCabe when the driver came to a stop sign at the intersection with Dupont. At the same time, a Toyota Rav-4 was traveling northbound on Dupont approaching the same intersection. The Civic driver slowed but failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the path of travel for the Toyota. The two cars collided at the intersection before coming to rest in the southbound lanes of the roadway. The Honda Civic driver, a 28-year-old Frankford man, died at the scene. The Rav4 driver, a 24-year-old New Jersey woman and her 16-year-old passenger were both injured. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
No one involved has been identified at this time. Police are still investigating the accident. There is no further information available.
