Millsboro, DE (September 1, 2022) – Multiple agencies responded to the scene of a serious hit-and-run crash involving a bicycle in Millsboro on Wednesday morning, August 31st. The crash occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on Route 24 at Long Neck.
The Indian River Fire Company along with the Mid-Sussex Rescue and County Paramedics were all at the scene. According to authorities, a bicyclist was traveling on Route 24 when the rider was hit by a white work van. The bicyclist, who was not identified, was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the van fled the scene following the crash. Police are still searching for a suspect at this time.
The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the collision. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No additional information has been released at this time.
