New Castle, DE (December 1, 2022) – Four people lost their lives in a wrong-way crash in New Castle on Wednesday, November 30th. The accident took place just before midnight on Interstate 495 near Exit 1 and Route 13.
According to a report from the Delaware State Police, a 2004 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-495. At the same time, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma was traveling southbound in the same lane. The two vehicles collided head-on resulting in severe damage to both trucks. The 41-year-old female driver of the Tacoma and her two passengers died at the accident scene. The male driver of the F-150 was also pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved.
There is no word on what caused the accident to occur. The victims have not been identified. An investigation is underway.
