Bear, DE (December 2, 2022) – Three people were taken to a local hospital following a serious crash caused by a fleeing driver in Bear. The accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on Route 40 just west of Walther Road.
According to a report from officials, a 19-year-old man was fleeing from officers when he sped through an intersection and caused a multi-car collision. An SUV involved in the accident rolled over and came to rest in a field. The suspect continued driving before crashing into another car and coming to rest. Two occupants of the SUV were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. One other person was also hurt but the extent of their injuries is unclear at this time. Officials located and arrested the driver of the driver and he is now facing several charges.
