Lewes, DE (December 11, 2022) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police responded to the scene of a serious car accident on Saturday, December 10th. The accident happened around 3:40 p.m. on Minos Conway Road in Lewes.
According to police, a Subaru Outback was traveling eastbound when the driver failed to navigate a curve. The Subaru crossed the dividing line and collided head-on with a Lexus RX SUV that was traveling westbound. Three people were in the Subaru, the 75-year-old male driver, a 104-year-old front-seat passenger and a 73-year-old female passenger in the rear seat. All three were transported to a hospital for serious injuries. The 73-year-old passenger later succumbed to her injuries. The 69-year-old male driver of the Lexus and his 68-year-old female passenger were also treated at a hospital for serious injuries. No one involved was identified.
The road was closed for several hours while officials investigated the accident. Motorists were advised to avoid the area. There is no further information available at this time.
