New Castle, DE (December 16, 2022) – Authorities in New Castle responded to the scene of a serious crash on Friday, December 16th. The collision was reported just after noon on Route 141, or the 800 block of East Basin Road.
According to a report, a silver car was traveling southbound on Route 141 when the driver crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another vehicle. One person was killed as a result of the accident. A second victim, identified as a man in his 60s, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The identities of those involved in the accident were not released. The road was shut down in both directions while police conducted an investigation into the accident. The cause of the crash is not known at this time. Motorists were told to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
