Delaware Truck Accidents
Delaware can be a dangerous place for motorists. According to a report from the Delaware Department of Transportation, there were nearly 30,000 reported car accidents throughout our state in 2020. While not all of these collisions resulted in injuries, many of them did. More than 7,000 motorists were hurt during this same year, with a substantial number of victims suffering serious injuries. The injuries sustained in an accident are usually a direct result of the type of crash that occurred and the speed of the vehicles at the time of the collision, among other factors.
A large majority of Delaware car accidents occur due to the negligence of at least one driver. While the cause of each accident varies and the crash must be carefully investigated, there are some common causes. This includes speeding, reckless driving, impaired driving, and distraction. Motorists who willfully break traffic laws are also more likely to cause a serious crash to occur that will result in injuries to innocent victims.
