Laurel, DE (January 18, 2023) – Police in Laurel are investigating following a fatal multi-car accident on Tuesday, January 17th. The crash happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Laurel Road, just west of Goose Nest Road.
According to a report from police, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road, while a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was traveling eastbound on the same road. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Silverado 1500 crossed over the center line and entered the path of the Silverado 2500, causing a head-on crash.
The Silverado 1500 driver was identified as 27-year-old Lillyanne Ternahan, while the Silverad0 2500 driver was identified as 38-year-old Jamin Pugh. Both drivers died at the scene of the crash. A 12-year-old and 9-year-old girl in Pugh’s vehicle suffered critical injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
There is no word on whether alcohol or speed played a role in the accident. An investigation is underway.
