Newport, DE (February 4, 2023) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene of a serious head-on car accident on Friday, February 3rd. The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Newport Pike near the intersection with Gregg Avenue.
According to a report from troopers, at least two cars were involved in the collision. A total of nine victims sustained injuries as a result of the crash. All of the victims were treated at the scene before being rushed to a local hospital by paramedics. Some of the patients were said to be in critical condition. No one involved in the accident has been identified at this time. The cause of the collision remains under investigation and it is unclear if any charges are expected to be filed.
