New Castle, DE (February 19, 2023) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police have identified the man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday. The crash happened Wednesday night on South DuPont Highway near the intersection with 2nd Avenue.
Officials say that Malcolm Bayron was the victim of the accident. According to a report, Bayron was riding his motorcycle at the intersection when an SUV driver traveling in the opposite direction ran a red light. The SUV struck Bayron’s bike. Bayron was ejected from the motorcycle. The SUV driver fled the scene on foot while Bayron was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police are still searching for the driver of the SUV at this time. There is no further description of the vehicle or the suspect available. An investigation is ongoing. No additional details are available.
