Greenwood, DE (March 20, 2023) – An Ellendale woman was hurt in a two-car accident that occurred on Friday, March 17th. The accident took place around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Shawnee Road and Staytonville Road.
According to a police report, a 56-year-old Dover man was driving a Chevrolet S10 when he came to a stop sign at the intersection of Shawnee and Staytonville. At the same time, a 44-year-old Ellendale woman was operating Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on Shawnee. Officials say that the man ran the stop sign and collided with the woman’s Trailblazer. The woman was hurt as a result of the collision. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The woman’s identity has been released at this time. There were no additional injuries reported. The road was partially blocked after the crash. Drivers were advised to avoid the scene or to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
