Wilmington, DE – Three Hurt in Police Vehicle Crash on 12th St. at Washington St.

Wilmington, DE (May 23, 2023) – Police in Wilmington were dispatched to the scene of a car accident with injuries on Monday evening, May 22nd. The crash happened at the intersection of 12th Street and Washington Street around 8:30 p.m.

According to a report from the area, a police vehicle and a red Kia SUV collided with each other at the intersection. The Kia suffered heavy damage, and the police car flipped onto its side. A total of three people were transported to the hospital after the accident. The conditions of the victims have not been released at this time.

Police partially closed the road while the crash was investigated. Drivers were told to avoid the scene and to look for an alternate route of travel.
