According to a report, 91-year-old Henry Schaal of Wilmington was killed in the collision. Police say that Schaal was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 northbound on Knneett Pike when his truck collided with a 2002 International attenuator truck. Schaal suffered critical injuries in the head-on accident. He later succumbed to his injuries. The 57-year-old male driver of the International truck was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time. The 57-year-old victim has not been identified.
