According to a report, 26-year-old Thomas Neugebauer of Lewes was driving his vehicle northbound on Long Neck Road when he struck a car from behind. The impact pushed the second car into a nearby utility pole. A 63-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl in the second car were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims and the full extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
Neugebauer was not hurt in the collision. Following an investigation, he was charged with DUI, two counts of second-degree assault, and other charges. Police believed that speed may have played a role in the crash.

Injury Accidents in Delaware
Most people take their safety for granted on the road. While driving can seem like a very routine and harmless activity, a serious crash can occur at any time. Motorists should remain vigilant in order to avoid a crash from happening. Last year, nearly 40,000 people were involved in Delaware car accidents. From these numbers, approximately 8,000 motorists suffered injuries. Some victims sustained serious injuries requiring long-term costly and complex medical care.
If you or a loved one have been hurt in a Delaware car accident, you should be fully aware of your legal right. Having an understanding of your legal rights and options places you in a strong position when the insurance company calls to try to settle your case.
