According to a report from the Delaware State Police, a car and an ambulance collided with each other on Route 9. The accident resulted in injuries to two people. An ambulance arrived at the scene and provided treatment to both victims. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted from the scene and taken to a local hospital. A 17-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital at the time of the accident. It is unclear if the injured victims were in the car or the ambulance. The identities of those involved have not been released.
The road was closed for a period of time following the collision. During this time, motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
