Newark, DE (July 15, 2023) – Police and rescue officials in Newark responded to the scene of a pedestrian crash on Saturday afternoon, July 15th. The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 896 and Old Baltimore Pike.
According to a report from the scene, the pedestrian was walking near the road when they were struck by an undisclosed vehicle. The pedestrian fell into the road and became trapped under a tractor. The New Castle County EMS, along with the Delaware State Police, and Atena Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company, were all at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. There is no information on their condition at this time. The victim’s identity has also not been released.
