Dover, DE (December 2, 2023) – A woman was killed in a crash that took place in Dover on Friday, December 1st. The accident took place just after 3:00 p.m. on North Dupont Highway.
Police say that a 59-year-old woman from Hartly was driving a 2001 Buick Century eastbound on Rose Bowl Road. When the woman came to a stop sign, she tried to cross the road in front of a 2012 Nissan Sentra. The two vehicles collided with one another, as the Sentra struck the driver-side door of the Buick Century. The 59-year-old woman was seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died. The Nissan driver, a 21-year-old Smyrna woman, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither of the two women have been identified at this time. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed in connection with the crash. An investigation is underway.
