Injury Accidents in Delaware
Delaware’s roadways are some of the most crowded and congested in the nation. With a network of major roads that transport interstate as well as local drivers, there is always a risk of an accident occurring. According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, more than 22,000 traffic crashes took place in our state in 2022. These accidents also resulted in nearly 8,000 injuries and 165 deaths. Many of the injuries suffered by victims were serious in nature and required extensive and ongoing medical treatment.
The costs associated with a Delaware traffic accident can pile up quickly. Medical bills are a major concern for many crash victims. Some victims do not have medical insurance or find that their insurance covers only a portion of their bills. In addition, victims may suffer lost wages due to being unable to work as a result of their injuries. As time goes on, the economic hardship of a car accident can begin to take its toll. Additionally, dealing with physical pain and suffering can cause your life to feel like it has been turned upside down.
Fortunately, there is help available. Under Delaware law, a car accident victim may have the right to seek compensation for their injuries. If you were not at fault or the other driver was at least partially at fault, you may be entitled to recover for your damages. Your recovery can include all of your medical and prescription costs, the wages lost due to your inability work, and an amount for the pain and suffering caused by the accident.
