Georgetown, DE (February 5, 2024) – The Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene of a fatal, multi-car accident in Georgetown on Saturday, February 3rd. The crash was reported just after 10:00 p.m. on Dupont Boulevard.
According to a report, a Chevrolet HHR was traveling northbound on Dupont Boulevard with a Dodge Ram traveling behind it. At the same time a silver Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Wilson Road. The Silverado driver ran a red light and collided with both the HHR and the Ram at the intersection. The HHR caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released at this time. The driver of the Ram, a 33-year-old man from Selbyville, was not hurt in the crash. The driver of the Silverado left the scene after the collision.
The road was closed for about three hours while the accident was investigated. The Delaware State Police are still looking into the collision at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Corporal J. Smith or the Delaware Crime Stoppers. No further details are available.
