New Castle, DE (May 26, 2024) – The Delaware State Police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Saturday, May 25th. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on South Chapel Street near Pencader Plaza.
Along with police, the New Castle County Paramedics and Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company also arrived at the scene. According to a report, a pickup truck and a sedan were involved in the collision. The driver of the sedan was trapped for about 10 minutes and had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was later identified as a 78-year-old male. The man was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was listed in stable condition with injuries to one of his extremities as well as possible internal injuries. There were no reports of any other injuries. The cause of the accident was not immediately released. An investigation remains ongoing and no further information is available.
