Georgetown, DE (June 2, 2024) – A 65-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash that took place near Milton. The accident occurred on Thursday, May 30th at the intersection of Harbeson Road and Carpenter Road.
According to a report from the scene, a car was traveling on Harbeson Road when the driver tried to make a left turn. The car failed to yield to an oncoming SUV, leading to a crash between the two vehicles. The driver of the SUV, identified as 65-year-old Lucia Amaya, suffered critical injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to the injuries. A woman and a four-year-old child were treated for serious injuries, while the driver of the car and a 12-year-old child were hospitalized with minor injuries. Police are still investigating the deadly accident at this time. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed. No further details are available.
