Lewes, DE (June 9, 2024) – The Delaware State Police responded to the scene of a car accident in Lewes on Thursday, June 6th. The crash took place in the northbound lanes of the Coastal Highway.
According to a report, a yellow Dodge Dakota and a black Nissan Rogue were both northbound on the Coastal Highway when the Dakota made an improper lane change, colliding with the Rogue. The Dakota driver, a 63-year-old man from Lewes, was not hurt in the crash. The driver of this Nissan, a 27-year-old Lewes woman, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A 4-year-old child in her car was not injured. No one involved in the crash has been identified. Following an investigation, police issued the Dakota driver a ticket for making an improper lane change. No further details regarding the crash are available at this time.
