New Castle, DE (June 30, 2024) – Authorities in New Castle responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle injury accident on Friday, June 28. The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of South Dupont Highway and Quigley Boulevard.
According to a report, the crash happened when a car was stopped at a red light and a second vehicle rear-ended the first vehicle. The force of the impact caused the first vehicle to strike a tractor-trailer. The car then became partially wedged underneath the tractor-trailer. Three people were transported to an area hospital, including a 24-year-old female with a leg injury and possible internal injuries, a 28-year-old male in critical condition with possible internal injuries, and a 22-year-old female, also in critical condition with possible internal injuries. All of the motorists were transported to Christiana Hospital. No one involved has been identified at this time. The accident remains under investigation, and there is still no word on any potential charges.
