Harbeson, DE (November 22, 2024) – An injury four-car crash occurred Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m. in the Harbeson area, resulting in several injuries and causing significant traffic disruptions. The collision took place at the intersection of Hollymount Rd and Indian Mission Rd.
According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred when a Subaru, traveling eastbound from Hollyville Rd, collided with a northbound Impala at the 4-way stop at Indian Mission Rd and Hollymount Rd. The Subaru continued through the intersection and struck a Toyota that had been stopped in the westbound lane of Hollymount Rd. The impact pushed the Toyota into the rear of a Honda that was also stopped behind it.
The 21-year-old female driver of the Honda was transported to an area hospital with injuries. The 77-year-old male driver of the Subaru, a resident of Lewes, was treated for injuries at the scene. Fortunately, the drivers of the Toyota and Impala, as well as a passenger in the Toyota, did not sustain injuries.
Delaware State Police, along with emergency services, responded promptly to the scene. Ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals, while firefighters assisted with the extraction of vehicles from the wreckage. Authorities also worked to control traffic and ensure the safety of all involved. The intersection remained temporarily blocked as crews worked to clear the debris and manage the situation.
