New Castle, DE (April 24, 2022) – Police and rescue officials in New Castle responded to the scene of a serious car accident on Saturday afternoon, April 23rd. The accident occurred around 2:25 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the intersection with US Highway 13.
When officials arrived at the accident scene, they found at least one person suffering from injuries as a result of the accident. The current condition of the victim and the extent of the injuries are not known at this time. Police shut down all southbound lanes of I-95 so that they could investigate the collision and clear the scene. Drivers in the area experienced significant delays as a result of the accident and were asked to find an alternate route of travel if possible. At this time, there is no word on the cause of the collision or whether any charges are expected to be filed.
