Wilmington, DE (June 9, 2022) – The Wilmington Police Department and Wilmington Fire Department responded to reports of a rollover accident on Wednesday, June 8th. The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on Interstate 495 near the Christina River Bridge.
Police say that a car and a pickup truck were involved in the crash. The car sustained heavy damage to its rear end while the pickup was found resting on its roof. A total of three people sustained injuries in the accident. One of the injured victims was treated and released at the scene while two others were transported to a local hospital. They were listed in stable condition after the wreck. None of the individuals have been identified at this time. There is no word on the cause of the accident.
The crash resulted in all northbound lanes of the road being closed for about an hour. Drivers were asked to avoid the scene while officials investigated the accident and cleared the area.
