New Castle, DE (July 19, 2022) – Police in New Castle were at the scene of a crash involving a paratransit bus on Monday, July 18th. The accident took place around 10:15 a.m. on Governor Printz Boulevard at Cauffiel Parkway.
New Castle County paramedics were also dispatched to the scene of the crash. According to a report from the scene, a car and a DART transit bus were involved in an accident. A 68-year-old passenger aboard the bus suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. A 47-year-old woman driving the bus was transported to the hospital with back and internal injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the other vehicle was also transported for internal injuries. There is no information on the events leading up to the cause of the accident at this time. The identities of the victims have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
