Newark, DE (September 5, 2022) – A pedestrian from Newark was killed in a crash that took place late Saturday night. The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. on Polly Drummond Hill Road near Rankin Road.
According to police, the 40-year-old victim was walking on Polly Drummond Hill Road when he was struck by a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling southbound. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, died at the crash scene. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and was not hurt. There were no other vehicles or individuals that were involved in the accident. The road was shut down for several hours while an investigation was conducted.
