Smyrna, DE (November 16, 2022) – One person was killed and another was injured after a crash in Smyrna on Tuesday, November 15th. The collision took place just after 2:00 p.m along Route 13 near the intersection with Twin Willows Road.
According to a report from the Delaware State Police, a 59-year-old from Dover was driving a pickup truck when the truck left the road and then overturned. The man died at the accident scene. A 22-year-old front-seat passenger in the truck sustained serious injuries. The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. Neither the driver nor the passenger has been identified at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time. The road remained closed for several hours following the collision. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel.
