Dover, DE (December 22, 2022) – The Delaware State Police responded to a deadly car accident on Wednesday afternoon, December 22nd. The crash happened just before 1:00 p.m. on Bayside Drive, just south of Pickering Beach Road.
According to a report from authorities, a 2003 green Subaru Legacy was traveling southbound on Bayside Drive. As the vehicle traveled around a curve, the driver failed to negotiate the roadway and veered off to the right. The driver then overcorrected and caused the car to cross over the center line and across the other side of the road. The Subaru then rolled over and came to rest.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old woman from Woodside, was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her 20-year-old male passenger suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved in the accident. The man was not identified.
The accident remains under investigation by the DSP. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed. No further details are available.
