Wilmington, DE (January 2, 2023) – A passenger was killed in a crash that took place in Wilmington on Sunda morning, January 1st. The crash occurred just after midnight in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Edgemoor Road.
According to a report from the scene, the driver was traveling on I-495 when the lost control of his vehicle. The car spun out and struck a guardrail. A passenger was thrown from the car. The passenger went down a 50-foot embankment and landed on railroad tracks below the bridge. He died at the accident scene. The passenger’s identity has not been released. The driver suffered minor injuries in the accident. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved in the collision.
The accident is under investigation at this time. No further information has been released.
