Harrington, DE (January 8, 2023) – The Delaware State Police are investigating following a fatal accident in Harrington on Sunday, January 8th. The accident was reported in the southbound lanes of Dupont Highway.
According to the DSP, a 27-year-old woman from Maryland was driving a Ford Fiesta when her vehicle was struck by a Toyota Tacoma. Following the impact, the Fiesta driver lost control of her vehicle, struck a tree, and overturned, coming to rest on its hood. A one-year-old boy was inside the Fiesta at the time of the crash. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The female diver of the Fiesta was also killed in the collision. The Tacoma driver was not injured.
The road was closed for about six hours while officials investigated the collision. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
