New Castle, DE (February 18, 2023) – Police in New Castle responded to a car accident that left one person dead, and several others hurt following a car accident on Friday night, February 17th. The crash happened around 10:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Moores Lane.
According to a report from the scene, a Honda was traveling northbound on Moores Lane when the driver crossed the yellow line into the southbound lane. The Honda collided head-on with a red Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 52-year-old woman. Following the accident, the driver of the Civic and two passengers were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Equinox and her 29-year-old passenger were also transported. The 29-year-old female passenger sustained critical injuries and later passed away at a local hospital.
There is no word on the conditions of the other victims at this time. Police have not identified the deceased victim. It is not clear what caused the accident to occur at this time.
