Bridgeville, DE (March 2, 2023) – Authorities in Bridgeville were dispatched to the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Wednesday, March 1st. The collision was reported around 6:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 13 near the intersection with Rifle Range Road.
According to authorities, a Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound in the left lane of Route 13. At the same time, a Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound in the right lane next to the Chrysler. A male pedestrian tried to cross the road in a westbound direction and was struck by the Chrysler. The Chrysler then swerved right and collided with the Chevrolet. Neither the driver of the Chevrolet nor the driver of the Chrysler was injured.
The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not been revealed pending next of kin notification. There is no word on whether police intend to file any charges in connection with the crash.
