Wilmington, DE (April 6, 2023) – The two victims of a fatal accident earlier this week in Wilmington have now been identified by authorities. The crash took place on Monday, April 3rd, just before 5:00 p.m.
Police were dispatched to the scene at Philadelphia Pike in response to the collision. According to a report, a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta tried to make a left turn into a parking lot when it was struck by an oncoming Dodge Ram 1500. The Ram was traveling in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed when the collision occurred. The victims were identified as 42-year-old David Harding, Jr. of Chester, PA, and 34-year-old Ashley Lassiter-Tennessee of Wilmington, DE. Harding was the driver, while Lassiter-Tennessee was a passenger in the Volkswagen at the time of the collision. There were no other injuries reported. The road was closed for several hours following the collision.
At this time, it is not known whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the accident. There is no further information available at this time.
