Felton, DE (July 4, 2023) – A woman was killed, and multiple others were injured in a two-car crash near Felton. The accident took place on Sunday, July 2nd, just after 7:00 p.m.
Troopers with the Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene on Route 13, just north of Killens Road. According to a report, a 26-year-old Philadelphia woman was driving a Cadillac southbound on Route 13 when she lost control of her car. The Cadillac crossed over the median and traveled into the northbound lanes. While in the northbound lanes, it struck a Jeep head-on, causing both cars to spin. An 87-year-old backseat passenger in the Jeep died in the crash. Three other people in the Jeep were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Cadillac was transported to a hospital in critical condition, while her passenger was airlifted to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. A 1-year-old boy in the Cadillac was ejected and was also treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No one involved in the collision has been identified at this time. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
