In keeping with our tradition of fighting for “the little guy” against big corporate companies, Murphy & Landon successfully undertook the representation of a local small-business that had been sued in Federal court by two insurance companies seeking over a million dollars in damages for allegedly causing a house fire.
Trial was held in United States District Court of Delaware January 26-28th 2015 before District Court Judge, the Honorable Richard G. Andrews. At trial, the jury heard evidence that included testimony from fire cause-and-origin and electrical engineering experts hired by the insurance companies that blamed our client for causing the fire.
Murphy & Landon attorneys Roger Landon and Kelley Huff fought back hard and made the case to the jury that our client was not negligent, and that the fire could not have occurred in the manner claimed by the insurance companies’ experts. The jury agreed and only required one hour to render its verdict in favor of our client and against the insurance companies.
