Delmar, DE (September 8, 2023) – Officials in Delmar were called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Thursday, September 7th. The crash happened just before 6:00 p.m. on BiState Boulevard.
According to officials, the 27-year-old victim was riding a motorized skateboard on BiState when he was hit by a white Hyundai that was traveling northbound. The man struck the windshield of the car before landing in the road. The Hyundai swerved and hit a mailbox before coming to rest. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, a 21-year-old woman from Fruitland, Maryland, was not injured. Neither the driver nor the pedestrian have been identified.
The road was shut down for about four hours while police investigated the accident. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find alternate routes of travel during this time. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with details is asked to contact the Delaware State Police.
