Dover, DE (March 10, 2024) – A serious head-on crash took place in Delaware on Thursday evening, March 7th. The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Saulsbury Road and Whatcoat Drive.
According to a report from the scene, a 69-year-old male was driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler southbound on Saulsbury Road when he swerved to avoid striking a deer that ran into the roadway. The Jeep traveled left of center and collided head-on with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 driven by a 27-year-old woman from Dover. The 69-year-old male suffered critical injuries in the crash and was airlifted to a New Castle Hospital where he was listed in serious condition. The 27-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Neither driver has been identified at this time. No additional injuries were reported.
