Millsboro, DE (December 7, 2024) – A tragic three-car crash occurred on December 6 in Millsboro, Delaware, leaving one woman dead and another individual seriously injured. The incident, reported by the Delaware State Police, took place at approximately 5:56 p.m. at the intersection of Coolspring Road and Harbeson Road.
According to Delaware State Police, a Ram Promaster van was traveling westbound on Coolspring Rd approaching the stop sign at Harbeson Rd when it failed to stop and collided with a Nissan Sentra traveling southbound on Harbeson Rd. The crash caused significant damage to the Nissan, with debris from the impact striking a third car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing minor damage.
The driver of the Nissan, an 86-year-old man from Millsboro, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Nissan, a 79-year-old woman, also from Millsboro, was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her identity will be withheld until family notice.
The driver of the Ram Promaster, a 29-year-old man from Salisbury, Maryland, sustained minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital. The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old man from Lincoln, was uninjured.
Delaware State Police and local emergency services responded promptly to the scene. Firefighters were involved in the extraction of the vehicles, and ambulances transported the injured parties to nearby hospitals. Authorities managed traffic and ensured the area was cleared after the investigation.
